Authors' Guidelines

Jurnal Ilmiah Maju accepts original and unpublished articles that have not been submitted to other journals. To ensure a smooth publication process and maintain quality, authors are requested to adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Focus and Scope of the Article

    Articles should be relevant to the scope of Jurnal Ilmiah Maju, covering areas such as Economics, Health, Education, Infrastructure and Environment, and Governance. Articles that contribute to scientific knowledge and regional development, especially those relevant to the context of West Sulawesi, are highly encouraged.

  2. Requirements

    • Manuscript: Prepared in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx) with a file size not exceeding 10 MB.

    • Font: Use Times New Roman, size 11 pt, with 1.5 spacing and 2.5 cm margins on all sides.

    • Word Count: Articles should be between 5,000 and 7,000 words, including the abstract, figures, tables, and references.

    • Abstract: Provided in English, with a maximum of 300 words, covering the objective, method, results, and conclusion.

    • Content: The manuscript should include the following sections: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions and Suggestions, and References.

    • Author’s Name: The author's name (without any title) should be written below the title.

    • References: The bibliography should follow APA style, using reference management software such as Mendeley, with authors listed alphabetically by last name. A minimum of 20 recent references from journals published within the last 5 years and textbooks published within the last 10 years is required.

  3. Article Structure

    • Title: Concise, specific, and reflective of the article content. Written in both Indonesian and English.
    • Introduction: Provides research background, research problem, and objectives.
    • Research Methodology: Describe the research design, research subjects, data collection techniques, and analysis used.
    • Results and Discussion: Present data and analysis clearly, followed by a discussion interpreting the results.
    • Conclusion: Summarizes the main findings and implications of the research. Avoid repeating details from the discussion.
    • Acknowledgments (optional): Mention individuals or organizations that significantly contributed to the research but are not authors.
    • References: Follows the American Psychological Association (APA) style. Authors are advised to use reference management applications like Mendeley or Zotero.
  4. Tables and Figures

    • Each table and figure must be numbered and accompanied by a clear description.
    • Tables should be formatted simply, without vertical lines.
    • Figures or graphics should be in high resolution (minimum 300 dpi) and in .jpg or .png format.
  5. Ethical Requirements

    Articles must adhere to publication ethics standards and be free of plagiarism. Authors must provide plagiarism-check proof (maximum 20%) using software like Turnitin or iThenticate.

  6. Article Submission

    Articles should be submitted via the Open Journal System (OJS) on the official Jurnal Ilmiah Maju website. Authors must register for an account first and follow the available submission instructions.

  7. Review Process

    All submitted articles will go through a double-blind peer review process. The editor will provide feedback to the author, including the decision to accept, reject, or request revisions to the article.

  8. Copyright and Open Access

    By submitting an article to Jurnal Ilmiah Maju, the author agrees that their article will be published under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License, allowing public access to the article with appropriate attribution.
